Four pillars

Cardiac regeneration, computational-first. gene therapy, scaffold & biomaterials, protein & drug discovery, and the open stack.

What Virelion is

Virelion is a computational cardiac regeneration venture. We rank hypotheses and designs in silico before wet-lab spend. Four focus areas structure the work:

All programs are research-stage. None are approved therapies or clinical decision support.

Four Virelion research pillars connected by a shared evidence backbone

1 · Gene therapy

VB-101 : myocardial regeneration gene therapy. Status: candidate identification. Multi-omic and literature evidence → curated signals → cross-context comparison → 1–3 prioritized molecular regulators for later physical testing. Delivery models and safety filters inform ranking; no clinical vector claim.

2 · Scaffold & biomaterials

VB-204 : engineered cardiac graft concepts. Status: discovery / computational graft integration & risk. Phenotype maturity axes, tissue architecture, interface properties, balancing predicted mechanical contribution and electrical synchrony against arrhythmogenic risk. Stiffness match, vascularization, and immune compatibility frame the design space.

3 · Protein & drug discovery

Major focus. Computational prioritization of protein targets and drug-like intervention hypotheses for cardiac regeneration and repair. Builds on the same evidence stack as VB-101 (omics, perturbation, human relevance) and extends to modality questions: gene vs protein vs small-molecule tractability, off-target risk framing, and experimental go/no-go criteria.

Not a high-throughput chemistry factory , a rigorous shortlist process so lab resources hit the strongest hypotheses first.

4 · Computational platform

VB-310 / HeartTwin and the open measurement-evaluation stack. Measure (ElectroTrace, MyoTrace, OptiCell) → understand (CardiAtlas, CardiLearn) → simulate (CardiSim, HeartTwin) → evaluate (CardiEval, CardiBench, DCCP). Active development; research infrastructure, not a clinical digital twin.

How the pillars connect

Gene therapy and protein/drug work share target biology. Scaffold/biomaterials asks how cells and materials integrate under load and rhythm. The computational pillar supplies shared measurement, simulation, and independent evaluation so none of the therapeutic framings floats free of testable evidence.

Looking ahead, the same topics are relevant to microgravity and space / military medicine research , unloading physiology, engraftment under extreme environments, and limited high-value datasets that computational methods may help interpret. See Collaborate and Research approach.
